The city of La Coruña makes for a rewarding stop
as you sail south for your island-hopping adventure.
This Galician gem hosts treasures such as the
ancient Tower of Hercules and Monte de San
Pedro. It’s also gateway to the spectacular Santiago
de Compostela Cathedral. Arriving into Lisbon
presents an opportunity to uncover the rich
history behind architectural gems including
Belém Tower and the Jerónimos Monastery.
Boudicca will then proceed on to Madeira for the
very special ‘Four Fred.s in Funchal’ event. After
docking alongside Balmoral, Black Watch and
Braemar, you’ll be able to experience a memorable
day of celebration, shared with the crews and guests
from all four ocean-going ships in the fleet. You can
enjoy live entertainment, tuck in to specially prepared
menus, and even visit the other ships during this
unforgettable occasion. Away from the festivities,
there are chances to uncover Madeira’s fragrant
gardens and unique levada walking trails.
In Cape Verde, two distinctive destinations await.
Starting on the volcanic island of São Vicente you’ll
visit the region’s cultural capital, Mindelo. Within
this delightful small city you’ll never be far from an
authentic Cape Verdean experience. Look out for
fascinating colonial architecture, visit colourful
markets, listen to traditional Morna music, and
perhaps pause to sample Grogue, the national drink.
Praia’s array of highlights includes the lively
Municipal Market and the centuries of history on
display at the Archaeology Museum. You could
take the opportunity to catch a Funaná dance
performance too. Alternatively, opt for a tour to
UNESCO-listed Cidade Velha, the first city to be
built by Europeans in West Africa.
Continuing your island discovery in the Canaries,
Boudicca heads for Tenerife. Visit the mysterious
Pyramids of Güímar, admire soaring Mount Teide –
Spain’s highest peak – via scenic cable car or simply
relax and enjoy the sunshine at Playa de Las Americas.
Santa Cruz is the gateway to these highlights and
more. Vigo rounds off your holiday, complete with
the charming Old Quarter and picturesque bay to
explore in the spring sunshine.
