Sailing Around
Iconic Ireland
3rd September 2019 • 7 nights • Sails from Liverpool • Black Watch • W1920
From only £899 per person
This circumnavigation of the ‘Emerald Isle’
delivers a rich collection of iconic Irish
highlights. From the vibrant city life of Dublin
and Belfast to Cobh’s infamous harbour, and
the magnificent metamorphic mountains of
Connacht and Ulster. With so much packed
into one sailing, this immersion into Irish
culture is sure to be a real treat.
Cobh
Titanic Belfast
First, you’ll discover the colourful houses of Cobh harbour –
home to the pier from which many boarded the ill-fated RMS
Titanic. You can pucker up for a trip to Blarney Castle to kiss its
famous stone, or visit the fascinating Spike Island prison. You’ll
follow the dramatic southwest coast up to Galway next, before
heading on to Ireland’s largest fishing port, Killybegs. Galway is
steeped in history and fascinating remnants of the Medieval town
walls lie between the quaint handcraft shops, while Killybegs’
Bluestack Mountains offer stunning views and walking trails.
The iconic highlights continue in historic Belfast, which is
the gateway to the breathtaking Giant’s Causeway. This
cosmopolitan city is the birthplace of Titanic too, and visiting
the site where it was built features on many a ‘must-do’ list.
Take in superb city views from Belfast Castle before the ‘craic’
awaits you in welcoming Dublin.
Your time in the city can be spent tracking down the Book of
Kells – a hand-illuminated manuscript of the Gospels – in Trinity
College perhaps, or uncovering the vibrant culture of the famous
Temple Bar district. Fans of the ‘black stuff’ are well-advised to
visit the popular Guinness Storehouse.
