Braemar offers to show you the very best of one of Spain’s most breathtaking
regions. Andalusia boasts rich culture, spectacular scenery, tempting
traditional cuisine and architectural wonders galore; and all will be within
reach in a trio of captivating cities. Calls at Malaga and Cádiz sandwich an
overnight stay in seductive Seville, where you’ll dock in the heart of the city
after sailing the beautiful, size-restricted Guadalquivir River.
A sense of excitement and anticipation of your
Andalusian adventure will steadily build on board
as you journey south during three laidback days at
sea, before Braemar arrives in Malaga. Overflowing
with aesthetic pleasures and cultural treasures,
Malaga offers a memorable introduction to the
delights of Spain’s southernmost region. Here you
could opt to explore the ‘mile of art’, where a
museum dedicated to Malaga native Pablo Picasso
is among the highlights. Granada, home to the
striking Alhambra Palace; the breathtaking hilltop
city of Ronda, with its dramatic bridge over the
El Tajo gorge; and the sunshine resort of Marbella
are all within reach on tours too.
En route to Seville, you’ll get the chance to savour
hours of very special scenic river cruising as you glide
along the gorgeous Guadalquivir River in the daytime.
This beautiful waterway isn’t accessible to larger ships,
however Braemar can sail the palm-lined waters all
the way to the heart of Andalusia’s stunning capital.
Once docked in the centre of Seville, you’ll have an
overnight stay to really get under the city’s skin.
Perhaps you’ll explore the pretty squares and
streets in search of historical and architectural
highlights such as the Alcázar Palace, the UNESCOlisted
Gothic Cathedral and 16th century Casa de
Pilatos; catch a sultry flamenco performance in the
evening; and sample delicious local cuisine at a
traditional tapas bar. There’s plenty to compete
for your attention.
Your four fabulous days in Andalusia come to an end
on the region’s glorious, sun-kissed Atlantic coast, in
pretty Cádiz. There is a wealth of attractions waiting
to be uncovered here, from a collection of historic
sites including the charming Old Town, the 18th
century cathedral and Plaza de España, to beautiful,
golden sand beaches. Alternatively, you could opt to
tour to nearby Jerez, the ‘sherry capital of the world’,
or sample authentic local tapas.
Lastly, you can take in fascinating museums and
maritime architectural wonders and sample the
famous egg tart pastries during a call into Portugal’s
picturesque capital, Lisbon. All this before returning
to the UK with memories to cherish for years to come.
